Stuart Davies – Woodcarving
I studied at the Sir John Cass College because of the emphasis they put on craft skills and life Study. I work mainly in wax or clay before going on to cast in bronze or carve in wood. My work as a sculptor is deeply influenced by the human form and ancient mythology. The sculpture of ancient Egypt and Greece is my biggest influence and I see myself as part of a tradition that comes from archaic time, through artists like Rodin to the present day.
